I'm
thinking about doing my own makeup. Why should I pay to
hire a makeup artist?
While
you may know your skin and makeup preferences better than
anyone else, your daily-wear makeup will not provide the
type of coverage you would need to photograph your best.
Our understanding of the combination of professional products
under photography lighting helps to create a timeless radiance
and our
technique in application will create a durability that will
last all day and night.
What kind of makeup do you use?
We are not loyal to any specific
brand. We choose products based on its wear ability and
on its durability, not on the brand itself. Through trial
and error, we have tested many products from different brands
and have created a kit of products that we love with a variety
of makeup ranging from Mary Kay, Loreal, and Revlon to Makeup
Forever, Ben Nye, Bobbi Brown, MAC, RCMA, Cinema Secrets
as well as some private label brands.
We are having photographs taken before the ceremony.
When should we plan on getting started with hair and makeup?
It
depends on the size of your party. You should plan for about
30-45 minutes per person for just makeup services, and 60-75
minutes per person for hair AND makeup services. We recommend
planning a "lineup" so that services can be started
on one person as soon as another person is done. This will
ensure a much
more efficient, stress free wedding day and give you more
time to relax before the ceremony.
How long will the makeup last?
We've developed a technique using
a combination of primers, powders, and the makeup itself
that will last throughout the entire evening. We'll also
do touchups before the ceremony starts to ensure a fresh
look.
What if I don't like my makeup at the trial
run? Do I get a refund on the cost of the trial run?
The trial is an opportunity for us to get
to know you and discuss what you want in your look on the
big day. It also helps the wedding day move along more smoothly
and efficiently. We encourage you to bring pictures of the
hair and makeup styles that you'd like to achieve. If you
don't like any aspect of the makeup or hair during the trial,
let us know and we can make the adjustments. Whether or
not you decide to book us for your wedding day, a service
has been provided and payment cannot be refunded.
Is there anything I need to do to
prep my hair or face?
Yes! Face needs to be clean and moisturized and hair needs
to be completely dry and product free. Some products can
weigh down hair and make it more resistant to work with.
How do
I book you? What forms of payment do you accept?
At this time, we accept cash or checks. If
you'd like to book us for your wedding day, please call
214-478-8067 to check availability. Your date is considered
booked when a non-refundable deposit of 1/2 of the total
amount of requested services is received. The deposit will
be applied towards the wedding day balance. The remainder
of the balance is to be paid in full on the day of the wedding.
A discount may be available if you'd like to pay your full
balance in advance.
